ST. LOUIS — June 3rd, 2008 — Triumph Pharmaceuticals Inc., makers and marketers of the SmartMouth brand of mouthwash, has seen consumer sales steadily climb for a record 6th reporting period in a row, as reported by A.C. Nielsen. SmartMouth is the only brand of mouthwash that has experienced continued growth in each of the past 6 reporting periods. During that time, SmartMouth sales have risen 25.3%, while the overall mouthwash category has increased only 4.8%.
"We're delighted to report such positive, sustained sales growth for SmartMouth, especially during such uncertain economic times," said Dr. Susanne Cohen, Triumph's CEO. "Our growth and the testimonials that we receive daily prove that we are making an impact in improving the quality of life for millions of Americans."
Media appearances over the past several months on national TV shows like The Rachael Ray Show, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, and Fox & Friends have certainly helped get the word out to initiate consumer trial. In addition, SmartMouth was featured in a USA Today cover story on mouthwash brands that actually work! Coupled with a national radio and a new television ad campaign (running during NBC's Today Show and ABC's Good Morning America), the media hits are working in unison to effectively communicate the SmartMouth message to the public, 10% of which suffers from chronic bad breath.
"As a result of our advertising and PR efforts, awareness and trial of SmartMouth is at record levels; however, there is much work left to be done to introduce this unique technology to the masses," explains Dr. Cohen. "SmartMouth is the only mouthwash that provides long-term fresh breath for at least 12 hours, which is 12 times longer than all other mouthwashes, and we want everyone to know about it."
Unlike other mouthwashes, SmartMouth does not contain alcohol nor will it stain teeth, dentures, crowns, or fillings. Developed and recommended by dentists, SmartMouth Mouthwash is currently available in over 32,000 mass-market, food, and drug stores nationwide for an average retail price of $11.00 (16oz) and $7.00 (8oz).
About SmartMouth
Zinc ion technology is the foundation of the SmartMouth Mouthwash formulation. SmartMouth was developed by Dr. Marvin Cohen, Chairman of Triumph Pharmaceuticals Inc., and author of the halitosis section of the 1998 Medical Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica; and Dr. Susanne Cohen, President and CEO. This patented system attacks bad breath in two ways. First, it eliminates any bad breath that already exists in your mouth. Second, its zinc ion technology neutralizes bacteria, preventing them from producing new bad breath for at least 12 hours after each rinse.
